File Formats
To have the highest quality output, this depends on the original files supplied.
We usually ask for vector artwork, ideally as a PDF created in Adobe Illustrator with all text converted to outlines.
We understand Abode suites are not always used, so are happy to accept vector format in (EPS, AI, PDF) or at 300dpi minimum, specify Pantone colours when possible, and use CMYK for digital printing.
Top checklist for artwork...
- Convert all fonts to outlines (or include the font files).
- Make sure all images are embedded, not linked. Preferably 300dpi.
- Use transparent backgrounds if you don’t want one printed around/behind your logo.
If anything above is causing you trouble, just let us know. We're happy to help, including redrawing your artwork into the correct format where needed.
Print colours and types
Printing can be confusing, so please do not worry, we are here to help.
We may ask how many colours are in your logo, or you will get a quote more than expected. This is usually due to increased print colours. Each separate flat colour will be additionally printed increasing the overall costs.
Here's a handy visual guide.

Print colours & Pantone colours
Primarily, we use Pantone Solid Coated / Uncoated colours to brand your items. This is a Pantone Matching System ( PMS ) widely used in the print industry.
The PMS colour(s) would be embedded in to your artwork when we send it to print. This ensures you get the closest match to your branding if supplied.
This can differ from what you see on monitors as the colour system is different. So if you know the PMS colour, please let us know.
Note: Black and white both count as colours, whilst greyscale images will be counted as full colour. Anything with a gradient will be classed as full colour.
PG Tip: You may like to consider the colour of the item to show through. This reduces the amount of colours used and overall costs.
If you are unsure, don’t worry: our in-house studio are always happy to advise.
